Got this game today. It is absolutely crazy. I'm pretty sure they broke almost every rule imaginable in regards to content in a video game. It's bound to generate some discussion in the media, maybe even spark some protests.

You can't go anywhere in this game without seeing some kind of nudity, reference to sex or disgusting visual (unbaptized nipple babies with scythes as arms ). Overall the story is pretty good, I've never read the Divine Comedy myself, but according to those who have, the game follows the poem fairly well. The fighting and attacks (each capable of being leveled up independently) are easy to execute and are pretty much identical to God of War but with a twist -being the method and gore- that set it apart. I especially like the way they allow you to level Dante. Essentially, the hardest choice you have to make is whether or not you want to be evil (scythe) or good (cross).


Obviously my choice was to take the darker path and punish every enemy I can get my hands on (including death himself) I haven't completed the game yet (I'm on Greed). I can't wait to see the rest of the levels and finish the story...shouldn't take too long, apparently you can beat the game in 7 hours.

The bottom line is that this game is bound to satisfy the sadist in all of us -or- make all the religious people run away in disgust and horror. I'm fine with both of these outcomes Game was well worth the money, glad I bought it.

Game is definitely a lot of fun. I as well took on the role of the unholy Dante wielding a scythe of immense power, but I think once I have completed the game once, I will return and start anew. When I go through the second time, I will focus on leveling up holy just to see how it differs game play and also try and get all the coins and collectibles.

I actually took on heavy on holy the first play through, I liked how "flashy" the moves could be for unholy but I figured holy would do the most damage to undead. errr dead... I'm not sure.
More about the game though to anyone who hasn't played. It's basic rpg 3rd person controls with a couple twists.
I found the puzzles harder then learning the controls so it's open to beginners.
The difficulty definitely increases substantially between settings and once beaten you unlock a wave type mode and new costumes per difficulty.
Uhh one last thing to say and I'm sure Brad & Josh will agree that a womans vagina will never look the same after a playthrough.
& You'll always hope baraka from mortal kombat's babies won't shoot out of her nipples at any given moment.
If I had to rate the game I'd give it 9/10 simply because I got caught up occasionally in the game stuck for long periods of time trying to figure out what to do next.
(The mirror puzzle and the part where you had to slide the block under that thing that poured the lava)
I don't know, if you know the part then you probably were just as confused as me.

Borrowed this game from my brother and when I got to the woman who "sprout" things from their vaginas, I turned to my brother and went, "WTF!?" He proceeded to laugh at my remark and begin to tell me that he forgot about that part as well. I only made it to lust the first time I played it and got mad at the part where you have to fight Mark Antony and his health regenerates. D= I like 3rd person RPGs though so maybe I'll start it again.

Amazing game. Played it three times , then lent it to a co worker only to get it back scratched up & unreadable.
If I had a real death scythe, I'd use it on him...

I'm guilty of dieing alot too lol, but every-time I do it motivates me to keep going then the game keeps getting better
